Walking the same path in bad weather
One route, every week, in whatever the sky is doing. A small practice in paying attention.
I walk the same two kilometres every Sunday. It sounded dull when I started and it is the part of the week I now protect hardest.
Repeating a route strips out the novelty, and what is left is the weather, the light, and how the ground gives underfoot. In fog you hear the path before you see it.
Nothing about it is impressive. That is rather the point.
